How Can You Help Your Adolescent Teen With Acne?

Your child has just started Junior High.  You would think he should be so excited to finally be able to have the freedom to make some of those little choices on his own.  Such as, eating lunch with his friends or what class he wants to take.  But no, he has completely thrown you off by his horrible attitude towards school and his family.  And yes, usually the family members suffer the pre-teen or teen’s attitudes the most.  Not because they don’t love you, but because this is where they feel safe enough to express their feelings.

So, WHAT is the problem?  Of course, there are many reasons why an adolescent turns into the MONSTER of the household.  And you should definitely talk to your child to get down to the bottom of the problem.  But, many times, your child just does not have the answer.  This could be because of hormones.  Your adolescent boy or girl can be suffering from many different hormonal changes that they cannot pinpoint.  But, one culprit they can pinpoint is Adolescent Acne.

To some parents, acne just should not be the reason for this behavior.  Unfortunately, this is the time when appearance is just about everything.  And those pimples are just the ammunition a bully needs to harass your child. Even friends tend to have something to say about acne.  And when this happens, it really hurts.  Acne really does lead to embarrassment which leads to low self-esteem which leads to depression which leads to your MONSTER!  Please take your adolescent’s feelings seriously.  Let him know you understand and that he can come to you with whatever he needs.  Communication is important to a happier family life.  Help him find ways to control or eliminate acne.

STEPS TO PREVENT OR TREAT ACNE

The best step he can take is to try to keep his skin as clean and oil free as possible.  This is obviously not a cure, but will help to prevent future breakouts.

There are many acne treatments available.  Usually, the medication includes some type of peroxide or acid, which can dry out the skin.  So, be careful not to use it too much.

There are also natural options available.  Tea tree oil is one that can be found in many health stores. It helps to kill bacteria.

Natural products right from the cupboard to apply on the outside of the skin:

Apple Cider Vinegar can be helpful in clearing up acne by killing off acne causing bacteria, balancing the skin’s pH, and by absorbing extra oil on the skin.
Baking Soda can be used as a scrub.  A scrub exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin that can clog pores and lead to acne.
Egg Whites, which are rich in protein, can heal and rebuild the skin.  It can help absorb excess oil from the skin.
Oatmeal can absorb oil and draw out impurities that are deep in your skin.

The digestive system is a big part of skin’s health.  Eat healthy and drink lots of water.  Water will help by keeping the body flushed and the skin hydrated.  Some ideas to keep your digestive system functioning normally are to eat cucumbers, drink lemon or carrot juice, or take charcoal pills.  Flax seed helps your skin to heal quicker.

Also, there are many natural supplements and vitamins to help with digestive health, which has a link to healthy skin.

On the bright side, your pre-teen or teen’s hormones will eventually adjust to his body.  In turn, he should see fewer breakouts.  But, it is imperative for a parent to understand the devastation acne can have on a young person.  If the behavior continues, or his acne just will not go away, seek professional help.  Your child has enough frustrations and hurdles to conquer, without the devastation acne can and does cause.   Give your child the support and love needed to live a healthier, happier life.

Adsense:  Tips to generating revenue off of Google

It is amazing how much money can be generated off of implementing Google’s Adsense program into a website or blog. Amazingly enough, that in fact, one person, Jason Calacanis, has reported earning over one million dollars in a years time with his blogging company.   But, how do smaller websites and bloggers cash in on this great program as well?  The following are tips on how to generate revenue off of strategically implementing Google Adsense into their monetization goals.

Tip #1

Sign up for Google Adsense and follow their instructions on how to place their code into your website or blog.  You will also receive a publisher id number, which will be Google’s way of knowing that they need to pay you for the traffic that you led to their ads.  But, how do you go about getting traffic to your site?

Tip #2

There are plenty of ways to generate traffic to your website.  One very creative way is by building backlinks.  What are backlinks?  Backlinks are one way links directed back to your website’s url.  Building backlinks to your website or blog will eventually increase your page rank with Google.  Basically, the more backlinks you have the better.  There are many ways to build backlinks.  A very popular method used by many is writing articles and distributing them to ezines, article announcement lists and article directories.  When you write these articles, you place your website url in your resource box, which could lead people to your website and possibly to clicking on your ads.  Another way of building backklinks is to add a signature line to your outgoing email’s with your website’s url as part of it.  You could also join groups or forums that pertain to your niche and start answering and asking questions with your url again attached as part of your signature.  Another way to generate traffic and build backlinks is by submitting to search engine friendly directories.  Just type in “search engine friendly directories” in the Google search box, and you will find lists of free directories that you can submit to.  Don’t forget to submit to the top search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN.   There are others and it is best to submit to only the search engines that have a page rank of 4 or higher with Google.

Tip #3

Constantly update your websites and blogs, at least once a week with new content.    The more pure content you have in your websites the better.

Tip #4

Increase your knowledge of search engine optimization methods.  By getting a better understanding of what SEO tactics are out there being used, you will surely become a master at generating traffic to your website.  Search engine optimization is a very complicated subject, but anyone can master it, if they believe in themselves and have patience.  This is where I come in with the fifth and final tip.

Tip #5

Have patience.  Generating money with Google Adsense will not happen overnight.  This is no get rich quick scheme.  It takes a lot of time and a lot of grunt work in the beginning.  But, once you master your own way of generating traffic, you will start to see results and you will never want to not use Google Adsense again.

These are only a few basic tips for generating revenue off of Google Adsense.  If you would like to learn a lot more about Google Adsense for free, visit www.adsenseterms.com

Adsense Terms:  What you know will profit you!

Just because you sign up for Google Adsense to display ads on your website, doesn’t mean that you will generate lots of income.  There are many tricks to the trade and understanding Google’s Adsense terms, will ensure you more profit.  But, what do all of the terms mean?  The purpose of this article is to explain what the terms mean and how you can utilize this information to generate more revenue.

There are five terms that you must understand to fully benefit from Google Adsense.  The five terms are listed on your statement after you login in.  These five terms are page impressions, clicks, page CTR, page eCPM, and earnings.  These change on a daily basis and if you want to get a full overview of a month’s stats, you will need to choose last month on the drop down menu next to view.

The first stat is page impressions.  Page impressions are considered the number of times your website’s pages with Google ads published on them are viewed.  Therefore, if a visitor comes to your website and reads one of your pages, this would be considered one page impression.  An impression is not a click and the visitor does not have to click on the ad for it to be considered a page impression.  Page impressions will increase as the number of visitors (targeted traffic) to your website increases.  The more visitors you have the more people are going to view your pages with Google ads on them.

The second stat is clicks.  Clicks are considered the number of times your website’s visitors clicked on Google’s ads.  Of course, the more clicks you have, the more money your website will generate for you.  There are techniques that can actually work to increase the number of clicks that you get.   Google actually generates an optimization report that will help you with understanding these techniques.

The third stat is page CTR.  Page CTR (click-through-rate) is considered the percentage of viewers that click on your ads off of your website.  Again, this rate can be increased by understanding the techniques in optimizing your website.  By changing the color, format, or location of your ads, the page CTR can drastically be improved.

The fourth stat is the page eCPM.  Page eCPM (cost per 1000 page impressions) is considered an estimate on the percentage of earnings you would make if you had 1000 page impressions.  Why is this important?  This is important in predicting future revenue off of your ads if you are receiving heaps of traffic.  For now, this number will not mean anything to you.

The fifth and final stat is earnings.  This is your profit and what you have made off of participating in the Google Adsense program.  The earnings are of course a number that you will check on a daily basis.  In the beginning, your earnings will probably not be very high, but after you generate traffic and understand the ins and outs of Adsense, it will increase drastically.

Out of all of the terms described in this article, the three most important for you to focus on are the page impressions, clicks, and of course, earnings.  All of these three need to increase over time for you to start generating a decent income off of Google Adsense.

Crying Baby:  Creative tips on calming baby

Hush little baby dry all those tears, because if you don’t mommy’s going to hear and if mommy hears those tears, mommy will want to scream and you’ll be feared!  Sound familiar?

I know it sounds way too familiar.  We as parents can not stand the shrill of a baby screaming or crying.  It makes us nervous and sometimes makes us mad.  It acts on our every nerve.  But, why can’t we handle it?  What makes us want to scream or escape the noise of a crying baby?  Is it that we don’t understand what they want or is it that we just don’t like the noise?  My answer to both of those questions would be a big YES!

As the mother of four, I have experienced numerous occasions, almost daily, when my baby cries and doesn’t stop for anything I do.  In this case, I have to be very creative and come up with ideas that will get her to stop.  In this article, I will provide tips on how to get your baby not to cry.  I can’t promise you that it will work, but anything is worth a try when you are in desperate help.  However, before we get into ways to get your baby to stop crying, we should try to understand what it is they are crying about.  Your baby obviously is in need of something, whether it be your attention, a feeding, a diaper change, a nap, or teething medicine.  It is your responsibility to try to understand their needs.  Understanding your baby’s cries will tremendously help you in fulfilling her needs.  Their cries are their only way of communicating what it is they want and need.  The next several times your baby cries, take a few moments to evaluate it.  Is it a high pitch squeal, or is it a deep low cry?  By understanding the differences of your babies crying, you are building up communication with your baby, which may in turn, help you out in caring for your baby.  Now, if after you have tried all you can to understand what it is your baby wants and no success, then you could follow these tips:

Tip #1

Take your baby outside, if it isn’t too cold and this will be a change of environment that could possible quite baby up.  Some fresh air can sometimes be a relief to both mommy and baby.

Tip #2

Go on a drive.  Get in the car, buckle baby up safely in car seat, turn the air and the radio on and drive for a while.  Your baby will enjoy the scenic route!

Tip #3

Turn the radio on and dance with baby.  Babies love to be held and swung around attached to the side of mommy.  Just be careful that you don’t get to crazy with it.

Tip #4

Give your baby a bath.  Some nice, luke warm water and a good scrub may be enough to calm baby down and possibly get them to sleep.

Tip #5

Have your other children play games with baby or play games with baby yourself.  A good peek-a-boo could be all it takes to get baby to cheer up.

Tip #6

If your baby is teething, try a teething gel and you could also possibly try gas drops for gas.  Neither of these two things would harm your baby.  I have used gas drops on many occasions and it has helped.

Just remember, you are not alone.  If your baby won’t stop crying after everything and you are getting frustrated, put your baby in their crib and take a few breaths or count to ten.  We, as moms, know how frustrated we can get and sometimes all we need is a little bit of down time.  Get others to help if you really need it!  Also, if your baby continues to cry for more then a few hours, you may want to call your pediatrician to get their opinion.

These are only a few tips of how to calm your crying baby.  If you would like more free information on babies, visit www.diaperyears.com

The Secret to a Healthy Weight Loss

Every year is the same old resolution.  You are going to eat better, exercise more, and lose weight.  Usually only lasts about two months, if that, and you are back to the same old routine.  I know, I have been there many times!

Natural weight loss is just plain hard to do.  But, it is possible.  And, it is the most effective way to lose weight.  There are so many diets and drugs for you to try.  Some people actually need to have the drugs due to health issues.  But, even these people must follow some type of eating and exercise plan.  Diets are a temporary solution.  If a diet does help you lose those extra pounds, and the weight stays off for more than a year, it is not the diet working.  It is that your lifestyle has changed.

Diets, journaling, and watching those calories are actually a helpful tool to begin a lifestyle change without even realizing that is what you are doing!  For example, when you are watching your calories or counting those points, you usually have to make a choice.  Should you go for the candy bar at 350 calories or have a smaller treat and much more food for the same amount of calories?  This is the beginning of a lifestyle change.  Making choices is an important part of your lifestyle change.

Making the choice to exercise is also very important to a healthy weight loss.  You do not have to go to the gym every night for an hour.  As long as you can fit some time in, as little as 30 aerobic minutes three times a week, this will help you lose the weight and increase your energy level.  Get creative!  Dance to your favorite CD, go for a walk, take up a new FUN sport, or just run around with your kids or pets.  Increasing your metabolism helps increase your energy level.  This will help you get to your goal weight sooner.  Remember to always warm up and cool down!  The more exercise you can fit in, the more calories you will burn.  And, you will feel so much happier and healthier!

Watch your beverages!  Those are where the calories sneak in!  Carbonated beverages made with sugar contain about 150 calories per 12 ounces.  Coffee contains 2 to 3 grams of fat per 6 ounces.  Diet beverages may seem to be the route to go, but recent studies have shown that diet soda can lead to an increase of snack food intake.  You are not getting your “sugar fix” with a diet soda!  Drink as much water as you can!  Often, people mistake feelings of thirst for feelings of hunger.  Studies show drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water a day can help cut down on hunger urges.  Drinking more water will help your entire system!  Drinking water provides a feeling of fullness, and helps the body to more efficiently use stored fat.

Effective weight loss is important to your health and self-esteem.  It is a challenge to lose the weight and keep it off.  Many times, people feel as if they have failed themselves when they revert back into their old habits.  There will be times that you are at a plateau and you just can’t get those last few pounds off.  When this happens, you have to make a choice to keep going.  All you need to do is mentally believe you can do it.  At this point, just reevaluate your eating patterns and exercise schedule.   Actually, you should be proud of this moment, as this means your body has adjusted to the previous weight you have lost, and it needs an updated schedule.

Drugs can help you lose the weight, but there are many side effects to them.  Some side effects are very dangerous.  Diets just do not last.

So, the secret to losing weight is to believe in yourself.  Once you have accomplished your goal the natural way, without high priced drugs and diets, your self-esteem will rise and you will KNOW you can do anything.  And this lifestyle change will lead to a healthier, happier you.
